Article by Priya Mistry:
On March 25, Pickwick Bowling Alley in Burbank was swarmed with dozens of PASC members ready to get their “bowl on.” Whether they were breaking records or cheering for their teammate, every participant, from every age group, had a memorable time. Down each lane, twelve to be exact, colorful neon balls glided across the oily floor. The attendants must have had a thrilling time walking up the alleys to retrieve balls stuck in the gutters. However, the most ecstatic portion of the evening was ultimately the cosmic bowling. Flickering lights edging the lane and glowing bowling balls created a disco party atmosphere. Even glowing shirts had its effects. (We could tell that the president came prepared with a bright, yellow, striped shirt that put people in awe.) But, where ever you find PASC there has got to be food. With a plate of pizza and glass of soda in hand, our participants multitasked- beating their opponent with an unexpected strike and trying to converse with all 70 members that attended this fun and youthful event. Overall the night went well and I’m sure everyone left with grinning faces (and perhaps bruised fingers and aching backs!)
During the night I made my way down the lanes to get the inside scoop with the members and their bowling background. Some, such as Bhupendra Mistry, took bowling seriously with tips like “it's all in the wrist,” while others let loose and tested their luck.
