Bowling Night - May 5, 2007

Strike!

Article by Priya Mistry:

Once again PASC made a strike at the much anticipated bowling night, Saturday May 5 th . The AMF bowling alley welcomed our hyped up attendees who were all eager to meet up with distant friends and family. It had been a while since the Annual General Meeting, so members were excited to get the ball rolling once again. The new committee had the challenge of providing this year with another eventful bowling night, and without a doubt they delivered. Apart from the social swarm towards the entrance of the alley, the evening moved smoothly as everyone showed off their skills. Sandip, our current president, felt that overall the “night was very good.” He was so surprised to see the amount of people that showed up, especially for the first event. Thumbs up Sandip for your first success! In the future he wishes to get people to the event without having to call them back. So for future reference, let's do our Prez a favor and guarantee our attendance the first time round.

As the night proceeded tallies totaled. Some decided to break away from the rules and play a more freestyle version. Others remained competitive until the end. The highest score came from Dilip Mistry with a breathtaking total of 164. How does he do it? Dilip, Chandra, and Kishore shared their words of wisdom for success on the alley.

•  Common Sense:
>  Throw straight, in the middle, and fast. (Duh!)

•  It's Just Plain Luck:
>  Kiss the ball three times (Hygienic?)

•  It's Great to be a Kid:
>  Keep the rails up (Ohh!)

•  The Magic Touch:
>  Don't play with greasy fingers (hmm..?)

•  Its All in the Mind:
>  Carry an ipod to help you focus and to get you psyched up!

Follow these tips and you'll be the high scorer at the next PASC bowling night!

The bowling night was fun and refreshing especially after the large gap between this event and the November Annual Banquet. We all enjoyed the pizza and drink at the bowling alley, but only in preparation for the next PASC event, the annual picnic. So get your appetites ready for the summertime BBQ, coming soon to a park near you!
